History

1988
A group of entrepreneurs from the area around Växjö in Sweden came up with the idea of starting a regional investment company under the name Bergkronan. The company acquired a number of sawmills and engineering companies. The aim was to go public within 5 years.

1993
The Småland-based business group Sydostinvest was acquired, including Lammhults Möbel. The group was renamed Rörviksgruppen.

1997
Rörviksgruppen was divided into two parts, each separately listed on the stock exchange. The sawmill division was spun off and listed as Rörvik Timber, while the remaining business was listed as R-vik Industrigrupp. This division marked a milestone, paving the way for future investments in design and the furniture industry.

R-vik Industrigrupp acquired the listed company Expanda, which included brands such as Abstracta and Skaga (later Scandinavian Eyewear). R-vik Industrigrupp changed its name to Expanda and streamlined its operations to focus on design.
